A hidden gem by the lake

The spacious room with a lovely lake view took my breath away each morning. The gardens were a picturesque escape, providing peace and relaxation after a long day exploring.

However, the restaurant service was unusually slow, leaving us waiting long after ordering, which took away from our overall dining experience.

The property could really use some maintenance!!! Wifi is unsecured, making guests' privacy a concern!!! Getting coffee before 8 a.m. is absurd!!! Rooms lack essential features like a mini fridge and ice machine!!!

The view from our room was exceptional,, offering a peaceful garden setting that felt incredibly relaxing. The pool area provided a beautiful perspective of the lake, making it a lovely spot for family enjoyment. We also appreciated the delicious pizza we ordered for dinner, which was well-prepared and satisfying.

The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable at times, which was somewhat frustrating.

Spacious rooms with ample seating. A round table that works well for family gatherings. The pools are large, with one offering a jacuzzi, and the gardens are filled with mango trees — a neat little touch for guests to enjoy fresh mangoes.

The lighting in the rooms is insufficient, lacking a central ceiling light, which makes them feel dim, especially in the evenings. Pool furniture appears cheap and uncomfortable, and the water temperature in the pool can be quite cold. Self-service coffee in the lobby could enhance the experience, as it's inconvenient to rely only on restaurant hours for a morning fix.

It was just a fine choice for a weekend in Ajijic with decent value for money. The brunch was great with made-to-order omelets on Sunday. Be mindful of late-night noise if you choose a second-floor room.

Spacious Double Room with Two Double Beds had air conditioning and a great view of Lake Chapala. The hotel grounds are beautifully maintained with outdoor furniture and sun loungers by the pool. I enjoyed the relaxing vibe and a very clean atmosphere. The restaurant had decent meals, but might be better to eat out for a variety.

The resort is set in a lovely area with great views over Lake Chapala and has spacious, comfortable rooms. However, the dining service can be quite slow, and it was disappointing to find non-functional safes in the room. Nonetheless, I appreciated the beautiful grounds and nice pool area.

real de chapala was fantastic! the staff was friendly and attentive. The daily room cleaning kept everything fresh. the pool area is beautifully maintained and perfect for relaxation. we loved that it was just a short walk to the plaza and lake shore. breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, especially those made-to-order omelets.
